Welcome to the Web site for Kevin L. Spindler Early Keyboard Instruments; I invite you to peruse its pages using the links at left. I build custom instruments—primarily harpsichords, virginals, and clavichords—and I also engage in extensive repair and restoration work. For many years I was the chief technician and instrument voicer for Zuckermann Harpsichords International (ZHI); I also participated in the research and design of new models offered by that company.  In May of 2001, after more than fifteen years of experience designing, building and restoring instruments for ZHI, I left the company to pursue that profession independently (for further information see Background).
